Procuratie Vecchie, Venise
The Procuratie Vecchie, a famous architectural complex in Piazza San Marco in Venice, represented the ancient headquarters of the Procurators of the Serenissima Republic. The building, restored to a design by David Chipperfield Architects, now houses a foundation, an auditorium, an exhibition hall, and a modern co-working space. A place for dialogue and exchange of ideas that aims to affirm ethical values and overcome social challenges. The interiors, expertly renovated by the David Chipperfield studio, maintain the exposed brick walls, embellished with large marble portals and fire-resistant doors in material finishes.
